Need I say more? Quite favourable reviews 🙂

Also, I fucking own at Call of Duty Black Ops. I mean, seriously. And that’s on a University connection.

Quite a decent week tbh, 7/10. University was alright, not too stressful.

Tonights going to be a late one, after the past two lie ins anyways. Im not slightly tired!

Tactical Nuke Incoming!

August 27, 2010

Well, yesterday I finally did it. I finally managed to get 10 Nukes in one prestige which gave me the stupid ass Emblem I have been trying to get few a good 3 months now. My total Nuke count now stands on 21. I never have to worry about getting a Nuke again, because I completed my challenge that I set myself which was to get the Emblem by the time Halo Reach is released. The funny thing is, with all the pressure taken off me for getting a Nuke, I have been performing so well. I been using a UMP and got atleast 300 kills with it in one night.

Also, on the talk of tactical nukes.

Getting a shitty old computer to run smooth is really difficult. The guy I work for really hopes that he can get it to run faster, so I did a little bit of maintenance last week and it improved a tiny bit. It wouldn’t really be noticable to normal everyday users. However, as an experiment and as a result of me getting pissed off, I am going to see just what a tactical nuke does. Maybe it will really speed it up?

I did a little bit more shopping yesterday in poundland for University things. I got some Bin Liners and some Anti-Bacterial handwash for my bathroom. My list is still really huge of remaining things to buy, all though they are small items such as vegetable peelers and things.

I also have my new Monitor all ordered for my halls, because there will be plenty of room! I have had to downgrade to a smaller 22″ monitor, but it is LG and it has HDMI too for my PS3 which is a bonus. Only £139.99

I also still have to buy my Freezer which is only £90.00 from Argos. My Mum is going to be all slow in buying it and will then panic when they are all out of stock, mark my words.

Just now, there was the most awesome little Kid I have ever seen. He had a Buz Lightyear toy, and a woody toy! He reminded me of me when I was a kid, except he wasn’t talking English. He was saying the voices in another language, I wan’t to say Bosnian for some reason. Anyway, after a couple minutes his Mum tells him ‘What have I told you about talking infront of people? I know Mummy said speak “I think she said Bosnian”, but that is only with Mummy. It is rude to do it infront of others!”. Anyway, this kid suddenly has this proper Birmingham Accent and it was quality. We were talking about Toy Story 3, and his Mum was really apologetic about him not speaking English for about 3-4 minutes. He was quite impressed that I used to have a Buzz Lightyear toy too!

Fail|Win

August 19, 2010

Well, this week has been quite good I must say, but there have been a few moments where I have had to think to myself  ‘FML’.

I had a 12 hour shift on Saturday, which after a few phone calls turned into a 10 hour shift. That was a long day, especially with nobody really to talk to.

Then, on Monday I met with the boys to buy the Blues tickets for Saturday. It looked like we all had a chance to meet up but Adz can’t make it, but I am determined before these 4 weeks are up we all have to meet up and do something! I’m going to miss all of them, and it is slowly sinking in that I’m not seeing them on a daily basis anymore which sucks.

This week, Daria and I have been relaxing to the max and we have played a fair bit of Video Games. I ordered Viva Pinata Pre-Owned from Game which cost £14.99. Only a few hours later did I remember Games on Demand. Surely enough it was on there, 4gb to download for the same price, so I cancelled the order with game and waited an hour or so for it to download. Needless to say I secretly love it! It is such a fun game, but I haven’t quite figured (tried) to do the co-op mode yet.

Playing so many games this week has made me realise how badly I need a new game, which is partly the reason for getting Viva Pinata. Kane and Lynch is released tomorrow, and I really didn’t feel comfortable in ordering it after the mediocre demo. I added it to my Boomerang rental list, but I wasn’t expecting anything. In fact I had completely forgot about it. This morning I received an email that it has been sent to me! Sweet!

Anyway, on Monday Adam gave us a link to a Youtube video in which he ate 7 Weetabix, to beat his uncles 6. I knew I could better his 7, so I said I would try for 8 the day after. The next morning I woke up nice and early so I was in a breakfasty mood, and placed 8 Weetabix into the bowl whilst recording on Darias Mac. I didn’t want to use my Laptop because the battery is fubarred and didn’t trust it not to Blue Screen or something.

Anyway, Daria’s Mac was positioned to video record me eating 8 Weetabix, and it took me roughly 12 minutes. When I pressed stop, Daria went to watch it again and the video was 2 minutes long. For some stupid reason, when the screen saver is triggered (in turns black) the video stops recording. BUT, Photo Booth (Some piece of shit software Apple put on their Piece of shit hardware) says it is still recording. I was really disappointed, because there is no way they will believe that I actually ate 8 Weetabix. The video stops just after I poured the milk into the bowl. I am tempted to try again tomorrow, but go for 9.

Today, I had to travel all the way to Kingsheath on the 50 bus to work on some computers Andrew has here. They are really slow, run windows XP and have 512mb Ram and the processor in a kitchen blender is undoubtedly better than this. He still thinks he can make the system faster than what it is (Shit slow). So, I have disabled about 15 start up programs, used CCleaner and I’m now defragging. I know for a fact this will not improve anything. He just needs a completely new computer in my opinion.

Moan

July 23, 2010

Two late nights in a row followed by two early get up’s isnt as easy as I remembered it to be. After having a few weeks off college, and being able to go to bed and wake up when I want to regularly, has been awesome. However, when I stay up late now, and get up early it takes it right out of me. I have no idea how I managed whilst at college!

Last night I spent the entire night playing games untill about 3am, and then I decided to watch Yes Man on Sky player. I turned in at around 4.30-5am.  I forgot how funny that film was, and I need to watch some more movies with Jim Carey in. It wasn’t a great idea going on Call of Duty earlier because of the foul mood I was in. I got really pissed off and had to take a break for 30 minutes or so. I went back and just didn’t care if we won or lost, but could feel myself getting more frustrated than usual. With so much on my mind, I couldn’t even get a 5 kill streak.

Needless to say, I woke up in a mood today and I’m just as pissed off as I was yesterday.

I’m now at work, and bored out of my brains.

Today was one hell of a mind fuck, but at the same time was a really fun easy-going day. I went in to college with the sole intention of finishing the little bit of Maths with the lads, and it turns out it was more difficult. There was no way I would have been able to do it without their help. I remember the lesson about it, and it took me all lesson to get my head around what was going on, yet alone understand.

Needless to say, we finished almost most of it, but there’s still part of it we don’t understand, which is the D criteria. I’m not too fussed about getting a Merit on this unit, along as I get a Distinction for Web Development and OOP. Nevertheless, next week if Marcus says it’s ok maybe we can try to finish the D criteria, because I know Adz wants it and Adam needs it to get to his chosen University.

Today, I purchased an Air Horn for £2 which was a complete bargain, and went around town with it. The best part was when I blew the horn and this guy started running across the road looking confused and startled. He must have thought there was a car bibbing the horn, and when he looked for the car he had this ‘WTF’ face on.

The great thing is about the next few days is the amount of time I have. Im at work untill 2 tomorrow, but have the rest of the day off. Whilst I’m at work, I would like to get the couple of hours of college work I have left out the way to complete the last two units I have to hand in on Monday. I have all day Sunday to do whatever I please. I have to go in to college on Monday, hand work and I can go home within the hour. I have no Maths AT ALL on Tuesday so that means just an hours lesson first thing in the morning, then back home. I have Wednesday off all day too. All in all, a fairly lazy week ahead!

Now, to send Marcus my Maths work, then COD till about 7. England game, then more COD. COME ON ENGLAND!

Yesterday I finished Alan Wake, exactly one week behind Adz. Last week, we arranged a little friendly wager who would finish the game first. Strangely enough, even though Adz knows I run through games fast, he felt confident he could finish it before me.

Turns out, Darias mum left London for the weekend and somebody needed to feed her rabbit.

Moral Dilemma:

  • Leave a rabbit by himself for one night, without food untill mid-day the day after and play games

or

  • Go to London and have to live with the fact that Adz beat me, but feed the rabbit

It was kind of obvious what we had to do, and I had to watch as Adz got further into the story and consequently beat it before I did.

Well, what he didn’t tell me was that the story was more confusing than the Matrix and towards the end had more WTF moments than Crank 2. Theres going to be some spoilers about the finale of Alan Wake below, so I would advise to look away if you haven’t beat the game yet.

**SPOILERS**

My take on it is that the cloned guy is Alan Wakes creation to continue destroying the darkness, whilst the real Alan Wake had to sacrifice himself to the darkness to save his wife, Alice. He mentioned cause and effect, and that there must be a balance. For Alice to survive, the Darkness needed an offering in place of Alice, hence Alan gave himself.

The things I have absolutely no effing clue about:

  1. How was Alice surviving all that time at the bottom of the lake, or is it ocean?
  2. What the heck was the tornado all about?
  3. Who was Thomas Zane, I still don’t 100% get who he is and why he had a massive divers suit on ala Bioshock
  4. Why at the end, was FBI Nightingale alive?
  5. Why did Rose become the new light lady? What happened to the original old light lady?

**END OF SPOILERS**

I’m glad I beat it, and there’s one thing for sure about the game, the atmosphere didn’t let up at all, even towards the end. There were a few moments where I got pissed off because the mechanics of the game were broken. Especially when I had to navigate around the bridge and jump over gaps and it was failing. One epic moment, which goes up to the top in my favourite moments of gaming was the part where Alan has to wait for Sarah to fire up the helicopter. The noise of the engines in the background as I’m defending the helipad from swarms of enemies, firing off my flare gun. It was amazing. Even though I have so many un answered questions, it goes right up into my top 5 games of all time.

College is nearly over and it is pissing me off beyond belief. It turns out, we have to go in on Mondays now because they managed to screw us over and not supply is with any teachers for four weeks. We have 2 weeks to complete, and hand in 2 complete units of work. In that time, I have to create a fully working TMS system which for me is pretty difficult to get my head around. I was confident last week that I could do it, but after just one sleep I have forgotten everything.

Also last week, I managed to forget my already printed Games Assignment, which meant I had to print the whole thing off again costing me £2 something. To top it off, the printer I used refused to work properly and screwed all of my work up. It was just a really depressing moment when you realise the college can’t even maintain a printer of all things.

As expected, I’m currently at work but should be finished by about 15.00 this afternoon. Sweet!

Lately, it’s been hard not to think I am a spy. I like to imagine myself as some, undercover agent spying on somebody. I’m lucky enough to have the best girlfriend in the world, and when I didn’t have enough money to buy the new Splinter Cell Conviction for Xbox 360, she bought it for me. Even the £60.00 Limited Collectors Edition. She does love me 🙂

Well, it’s really good but like I said, it has revitalised my sad fantasy of being a Agent, working for Voron or Third Echelon. What doesn’t help is the fact that with the version Daria bought me, there’s a whole Soundtrack CD with it, and the songs on there either remind me of the game, or generally make me feel like a spy. It’s so sad I find myself smiling at the thought.

For example, the other morning I was getting ready for college, and had one of the songs blasting through my speakers, and even loading up my OWN computer, logging into my OWN bank account made me feel like a spy. I imagined it wasn’t my computer, and I was downloading some material before the persons house it was got out of the shower or returned to the bedroom. At the time, it was fun as hell, but now I’m like WTF?

The same day, I was walking home and got off the train. As soon as I got off the train, the beat kicks in and I spot this guy. Kinda chavvy looking, and I immediately identify him as my ‘target’. So, I follow him up the ramp, pretending to be spying on him, gathering intel. I hope he goes my way so I can continue my sad little stalking game, and sure enough he does. Except, he crosses the road and funnily enough, the second he did the beat ended and it went onto the next song. But, for those 30 seconds, I felt like the baddass spy I wanted to be. I need to grow up. In a few months time, I will be 20. People say Video Games are a bad influence on people, which I have consistently disagreed with. They just make sad sad people want to be someone they could never ever be.

On the topic of Video Games, I managed to get 3 Nukes on COD MW2 last week, in the same freakin’ day. That was epic to say the least. When things like this happen, I always say ‘Pics or it didn’t happen’.

In other news, Daria and I went to see Cemeteary Junction the other day, which is undoubtedly ‘feel good movie’ of 2010 for me. It had such a great up beat soundtrack, the characters were really well played by the actors, especially Tom Hughes who Played Bruce. The cheeky guy, who always strived to be more but found himself stuck in the same place every single day of his life.

Ricky Gervais was as funny as ever in the movie too, and I still really love him even when he is ‘Acting’. Infiact, I think I like him more when he is acting more so instead of his stand up comedy.

Today, we went to London Zoo, and it was really good. The weather was sunny, and the animals were all in good moods, especially these two.

Get In!

April 10, 2010

So, my boss totally forgot to email me before he went to Holland this morning, which means I dont have to go in on Tuesday xD I really didn’t fancy it, and as luck has it, I don’t have to now.

I was reminded yesterday that Splinter Cell comes out on Friday, damn it. He forgot to email me, but he also forgot to pay me. Luckily, I got my replacement GAME card in the post yesterday, for the one I had lost. It has £12.50 worth of points.

That brings it down to £28.00

I will trade in Metro 2033 even if I don’t beat it, and I should get atleast £20

That brings it down to £8.00

I can easily find £8.00 lying around my room (maybe even in my money box).

My iPod has been playing REALLY great music recently on shuffle. It’s one of those simple things that always put me in a great mood.

Yesterday night was so boring. I actually submitted to rolling on 4Chan for the first time. It was actually hilarious. When your checking the last 2 digits of your post, hoping its nothing gay or weird.

Anyways, it’s sunny, it’s the weekend so Im going out!

Sun

April 9, 2010

Ahh, yesterday was so sunny. Shame I spent the majority of it playing Call Of Duty. Yuup, that’s right. The game that I have spent quite a long time slating.

The thing is, I think I took it a little bit too seriously the first time, and the fact that there were so many sniping little kids and glitches really pissed me off to no end. I had a break off it for about two months, and really had an itch to play it yesterday, despite the lovely sunshine.  I managed to prestige and reach something like level 24. I had ALOT of fun. I don’t know wether it was the chilled out attitude, or the fact that I hadn’t played the game in such a long time which resulted in me always having a positive K/D ratio and generally kicking butt. I had my Killstreaks set up perfectly for the game type, Predator Missile, Harrier and then Chopper Gunner.

We were on the terminus map, and theres a long narrow corridor by the airfield where everyone spams grenade launchers from one end to the other. I nested bang in the middle behind some boxes, and kept popping my head over and shooting the guys at the end of the corridor. I had ‘nade launchers going over my head. It was here that I got my Predator Missile, and I slammed it right through the glass roof and got three of them. Then I brought out my harrier which killed nobody, and by now I had run out of ammo for my Primary. I had to switch to my cruddy little side arm, but I got 6 guys in ONE magazine (it has like 15 bullets). Brought out my chopper gunner right there, and managed to catch them in their spawn point. In the end, I finished up with 69Kills and 9Deaths. It got to about 10 seconds into gunning them all down, and I was in hysterics about it.

I also played a couple of hours footie with my brother and his friend, which was fun but so hot! I’m beyond poor with my left foot, so much so, I think the left side of my body is completely detatched from my brain. It just doesn’t work very well at all.

So, at the minute I’m at work, and the minute I get there one of the Dr’s gives me a huge muffin. It looks hella expensive and smells really good. One problem – I dont like muffins. I’m going to HAVE to eat it too!

Well, today I finish at around 5 and I plan to go home, tidy my room up a little bit and then settle down for the night with a few games on the Xbox or maybe really try to watch Lost. I found out yesterday that I didn’t finish Season 4, so in order to figure out and refresh my mind, I will have to watch the whole of it again. I remember vaguely what happens.

Tomorrow, much of the same!

Oh Hai
